WEEK 1 - Warner Music Group Research

Warner Music Group 
  • Warner Music Inc (also known as Warner Music) is an American multinational entertainment, and record label.
  • It started as Warner Music Group in 2003, but several Time Warner companies had existed before then. 
  • Warner Music is known as being one of the "big three" recording companies, whilst being the third largest in the global music industry, after Universal Music Group and Sony Music Entertainment.
  • Warner Music owns a few record labels, including Atlantic Records, Elektra Records, Parlophone, Roadrunner Records, Warner Bros. Records, and Reprise Records. 
  • In late 2008 Warner Music group had legal troubles with Youtube. The issue arose when they wanted more money for the music videos they had on the site, but Youtube declined their request. Warner Music Group ended up taking all of their music videos off.
  • However, in September 2009 the issue was resolved. Both Warner Music Group and Youtube decided on a new amount of money.

WEEK 9/10 - Final 'Statement of Intent'

Information on your target audience and how you are attracting them: "Where is the Love?" by The Black Eyed Peas seems most relevant to the 16-25 target audience as I feel this age group range will be socially aware and conscious of the current problems mentioned such as, terrorism, war, hypocrisy, racism, gang crime, pollution and intolerance/violence against the LGBTQ+. As well as this they can also join and start movements to make a change to fix these issues.  At the end of the music video lots of different individuals of all ages and ethnic backgrounds are seen looking up into the sky.
