The History & Digital Strategy of “The Guardian”

Alan Rusbridger: The History & Digital Strategy of “The Guardian” The Guardian is a non-profitable organisation. Therefore, it hasn’t made much money and has lost quite a lot of money over the years.   However, earning money and making profit is not the origin of its existence.   It was brought to existence after the Peterloo Massacre. The Guardian wanted to be certain and make sure that everything they published was factual and so they used crowd sourcing. This was publishing many different accounts as this would be more reliable.   Put into a trust at 1936. Brought up a million-dollar entitlement. No shareholders. Only relationship is with its readers. Two thirds of their readers are not British. The Guardian readers did not like the idea of paying so only they could access the articles, so instead the second model was put into place in 2012 were they said that they would much rather pay for everyone to access the articles. ‘We will give you money t...

TEN GOLDEN RULES - This is America - Childish Gambino https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYOjWnS4cMY 1. How do the representations in the music videos chosen by the producers promote the artist?     - The video contains many scenes involving  violence, in particular gun violence against        African-Americans. Childish Gambino's  dancing  is contrasted against movements of          violence. He is playing with the idea of being a  black man  in America and the struggle of        gun violence. This is a clever way to portray a  large current  problem to the audience.  2.     How do the music videos reflect individuals or social, cultural and historical issues and             events?     - In the video a man with a sheet on his head is seen riding past in the background on a w...

WORTH IT (YK Osiris) - Evaluation

WWW: Overall I was rather pleased with my music video. I planned out what my shots were going to include before I started shooting, as well as this throughout filming new ideas became present and were incorporated within. This worked really well and created a good end product. I feel that I succeeded in using a variety of different shots which was interesting to watch as it created insight into the video from multiple views and perspectives. I am also content with the people I chose as they were both willing to co-operate and are natural performers (not camera shy) which therefore helped to sell the story line. EBI: To complete the music video I ended up filming on multiple days, this could be seen as a lack of planning. Throughout the process, I had to go back and film more shots in order to have enough to construct an effective and clear storyline for the video. Furthermore, next time I feel like I could improve the aesthetic of the shot to create a more professional outcome by...
